Welcome to DSAS
'Design Sense & Sustainability' intro
Why hello and welcome to Design Sense and Sustainability or DSAS! Here we discuss and analyse the current design concepts and products available and whether they can help your home, business, or life. DSAS is a weekly newsletter, chat, and burgeoning education hub to improve your design literacy and application in a world of information overwhelm.
Under the three umbrella headings, DSAS looks to answer these questions:
Design and sustainability - Sustainability is a hot topic but what does that really mean for you or your business? Designer denial, Eco-artists for designer resistance, and Can you keep a house plant quiet? all explore this question.
Design movements - Minimalism/eclectic/biophilic/postmodern… what are these movements and where do you fit or identify with? We started strong this year with Ross and Rachel were on a break, in apartments full of great lamps, Kim Kardashians minimalist house and biophilic design.
Design and feelings - How do designers, design elements, campaigns, or products make you feel? So far we have covered design rejection, being bamboozled by AI, cute design, and the series ‘Supernatural Eccentric Ladies’.
I would love for you to join DSAS for our newsletter and chats about design in your life. The realms of design covered are digital design, interior design, fashion design, and everything in between - I’ve even written about financial design, twice.
DSAS is written by me, Kim. In my normal life, I am a researcher, writer, and designer in New Zealand. I am passionate about design and how including elements of good design can elevate your work at home and in the office.
If you would like us to write about an aspect of design you would like to know more about, let me know! Also if you want to chew the fat, we would love that too.
Ta ra!
Kim

Kia ora!
I learned this greeting from my friend/sister from New Zealand. I was there in April, absolutely wonderful place to be!🙏🥰
More to learn from your sustainability ideas! 👍
